In a landmark agreement, the United States Bowling Congress has announced that Kegel will be the official lane maintenance provider for USBC tournaments.
As lane maintenance provider, Kegel will supply lane maintenance equipment, technical and on-site support for selected USBC championships beginning in 2006. The agreement will be for all USBC tournaments designated by USBC for 2006, 2007 and 2008 starting with the USBC Team USA Championships in Reno, Nev., Jan. 8-13.
"This agreement will ensure that those who bowl in our championships compete under the fairest conditions possible," said USBC Chief Tournament Officer Roseann Kuhn. "Kegel's work in the area of lane maintenance is well documented, and we are excited to be partnering with such a respected company."
As part of the partnership, Kegel will provide to USBC its latest equipment, including lane machines, cleaners, conditioners, cloth and spare parts. While USBC staff will still have final say on all USBC tournament lane conditions, Kegel will provide on-going routine lane equipment maintenance and technical support when requested by USBC staff.
"The Equipment Specification team looks forward to working with Kegel at these tournaments," USBC Technical Director Neil Stremmel said. "Their assistance will be the perfect complement to our team as we prepare for and conduct these events."
As one of its valued membership benefits, USBC provides a comprehensive lineup of 13 championships for its members from youth to professional.
As part of the agreement, Kegel will be designated as the "Official lane maintenance provider" for USBC tournaments for the length of the agreement. The company also will be able to take advantage of several promotional and advertising opportunities through USBC.
