Chad Kloss couldn't believe the scene at AMF Bowlero in Wauwatosa during the 2006 United States Bowling Congress Masters.
Early on Friday morning of the tournament, the bleachers were packed with fans waiting to cheer on the Greenfield resident as he went head-to-head with some of the sport's biggest stars.
"The support was unbelievable," Kloss said. "When I bowled my first match on Friday morning there were a couple hundred people there, bright and early. It felt great to have that kind of support. It gave me a lot of adrenaline and kept me pumped up."
Kloss rode that support to an eighth-place finish at the Masters and the momentum carried him all the way through the PBA Team Trials in June, when he earned exempt status on the 2007-'08 Denny's PBA Tour.
One year later, Kloss goes into the USBC Masters with a lot of confidence and higher expectations as he makes his debut as one of 59 exempt tour members.
