2006 USBC Masters contender Tommy Jones
PBA, SEATTLE - Denny's Professional Bowlers Association Tour stars Doug Kent and Tommy Jones will each participate in live national online chats next week to promote the 2007-08 Denny's PBA Tour which kicks off its regular season with the 2007 United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Masters next week in Milwaukee.
Kent, who was named the 2006-07 PBA Player of the Year after winning two of the four Majors will chat with fans on USAToday.com on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at Noon ET. Kent is the defending champion of the 2007 USBC Masters after winning his second career Masters last season in Milwaukee. He will look to become the first bowler since Billy Welu in 1964 and '65 to win back-to-back Masters titles.
The following day, Wednesday, Oct. 24, Jones will chat with fans on ESPN.com at Noon ET. The 2005-06 PBA Player of the Year, Jones made history last season when he reached 10 Denny's PBA Tour titles faster than any bowler in history when he captured the season-ending PBA Tournament of Champions. Jones fell to Kent in the first match of last season's USBC Masters championship round.
The 2007 USBC Masters begins Tuesday, Oct. 23 and concludes Sunday, Oct. 28 at 1 p.m. ET with the live ESPN-televised finals from the Milwaukee Brewers' Miller Park. This will mark the second time in the last four years specially constructed lanes will be built in right field of Miler Park for the USBC Masters. The winner will receive $100,000 and a two-season Denny's PBA Tour exemption.
