So Cal This Weekend
This weekend we make our first ever visit to Del Rosa Lanes in San Bernardino. We start at 1 PM on Saturday, and have a second tournament Sunday starting at 9:30 AM. As always, you can bowl only Saturday, only Sunday, or hopefully both! Each day will have different lane conditions- so be prepared for any condition at any time. Also, Sunday marks the debut of our new drop-or-not format- yet another new format to keep JBT exciting for our regulars. Check out all the formats at the FAQ section of the website if you're new to us. GM Dave Wodka is ready to roll out the red carpet for us, so spread the word and don't miss it!
This weekend also features BOTH days as part of our JBT Women's Series- so girls, don't miss it. So far, Allie Ijams and Melissa Huether have earned a chance at bonus prizes at the JBT Girls Invitational with Womens' Series victories.
Glendale, El Paso Next Weekend
Coming up next weekend is action in both the NM-TX and the AZ Conferences. The AZ folks will visit the newly remodeled Glenfair Lanes in Glendale. Saturday has both handicap and scratch divisions, and starts at 1 PM, while Sunday's event is a scratch-only event starting at 10 AM. The reverse is true at Bowl El Paso, with a scratch-only event starting at 1 PM Saturday, and a scratch and handicap event starting Sunday at 10 AM. Remember, scratch-only events are a great way for our higher-average handicap bowlers to 'test the waters' in scratch without sacrificing any points, so be sure to make a weekend of it!
JBT Message Board: USE IT!
The JBT Message Baord has been back in operation for quite some time now- but has not returned to anywhere near the same amount of traffic it once had. We encourage you to use it as a great way to keep in touch with your fellow JBT bowlers mid-week. It's also a great way to get doubles partners or teammates for the many doubles and team events coming up. The Mojave Doubles is coming up fast- October 19- and then it's doubles and team events a-plenty through December, so wether you use the message board or not, get those partners ready!!!
Main Event Will Be Here Before You Know It!
The 2008 Main Event will be here in the blink of an eye- it's time to start getting those entries in! Our singles squads will be limited in most cases to 3-4 bowlers per pair, which means each squad will fill up fast with bowlers of all ages and averages going for their share of over $50,000 in scholarships!
Please note that even though qualifying squads start as early as the 25th, you don't HAVE to be at Main Event until as late as the 2PM squad on the 27th- so if you have holiday plans, or can't even imagine bowling on Christmas day, that's no problem!!! A lot of people who are new to us miss that fact, so if you hear anybody say that, please correct them.
We really feel that the Main Event is your best "bang for your buck" in junior bowling- so if you have budget woes (who deosn't these days), we hope you'll choose Main Event as one of your 'big money tourneys' that you'll go to. Be sure to check out the Main Event section of the website today, and contact me with any questions.
See you soon!
Lots more to talk about, so look for another update soon. See you in So Cal this weekend!
