TPC
results posted- over $20,000 awarded!!!
Congratulations to Zack Hattori and Nick Wade, champions of the 2009 Touring
Players' Championship! Zack and Nick raked in a $2,000 scholarship each
and the honor of winning our most prestigious event of the season. Over
120 TPC qualifiers shared in an enormous prize fund that topped the $20,000
mark- holy cow! Thanks to all the qualifiers who did attend, we
hope we put on a great show for you. If you qualified and didn't attend,
man you missed quite an event! Complete final standings are available at
the website, so check it out today! Also, it's highly likely that the TPC
will be the same weekend next year, so mark your calendars now, as we start to
build towards this event at the end of this month!!!
2009-10 fall schedule now posted!
We are thrilled to announce that the complete fall JBT schedule is now posted
at the 'schedule' page of the website- please check it out and start
highlighting your calendars today! We're really proud of what we have in
store for you, and just some of the highlights are:
- the incredible Red Rock Lanes makes its long-awaited
debut on the JBT schedule with a Mojave season-opening doubleheader September
19-20. In a city of spectacular bowling centers, this one may be
the most amazing- pretty amazing casino too. There's no other events that
weekend, so get a car pool together if you're out of state and get to Red Rock!
- Camp Bakes continues to sponsor JBT with a great So-Cal
kickoff doubleheader at Del Rosa Lanes Sept. 12-13. The high scratch
division points scorer from the weekend receives a FREE ENTRY to Camp Bakes-
that's a $1,000 value folks!!! That should pretty much make this a
can't miss weekend for scratch-level bowlers.
-
Shake, Rattle, and Bowl again opens the Arizona Conference, Sept 5-6 in
northern Arizona. If you want to stay at Cliff Castle (definitely a
good idea), book your rooms now at the Lodge, code JBT945.
- All 5 conferences have their annual Doubles events in
December- these are always popular, so start getting your partners together
now. Plus, our 5-person Baker events were such a success last year
that all 5 conferences will have a Baker event this season! 3 of them
are in the fall, with the other 2 coming in the winter or spring.
Yay!
This
is, of course, just the beginning of all that we have planned for the
2009-10 season. As we see each year, the points you might earn in
September or October 2009 may make all the difference come Invitational
and TPC time come spring 2010. So... make your plans to not miss
any JBT action, tell a friend or twenty that JBT is for ANY bowler who
is age 21 or under, of ANY average, and we'll see you soon!
Desert Open eligibility adjusted to 21 or under as of 8/23/08
Obviously, it's a confusing month for young bowlers, as USBC's maximum age has
dropped to 19 or under as of August 1. Since JBT is not dropping
our maximum age (we are still 21 and under), and since our 08-09 season
continues all the way through August 23, this has left some bowlers in a bit of
a middle ground, wanting to bowl our August events, but unable to bowl anything
else, adult OR junior. Also, the USBC age change was announced out of the
blue in February, long after the entry blanks and formats for our August events
had been published. Lastly, the August JBT events (Desert Open and east
coast JBT's Las Vegas Open) are both 'freestanding' events- open to anyone and
not connected to our point system, like TPC.
Because of all those reasons, we're adjusting our eligibility for the Las Vegas
Open 8/5-9 to anyone 21 or under as of 8/1/2008. The eligibility
for the Desert Open 8/21-23 will be anyone 21 or under as of 8/21/08 (the start
of our 08-09 season). Please make a note of that if you have
an early copy of the Desert Open flyer. Again, all this will be
much simpler when the new season starts in late August, where this 'gray area'
will go away, and 09-10 JBT events will be open to anyone 21 and under as of
8/29/09.
East Coast JBT's Las Vegas Open this week!
This week our east coast JBT cousins return to Vegas for the 13th annual Las
Vegas Open. They have bumped up the prize fund considerably for this
event, up to $4,000 for first in scratch, and $2,500 for first in handicap-
wow! Remember, these are not guarantees based on unattainable numbers of
entries, like you sometimes might see in other events. These are
guaranteed REGARDLESS of entries. Optional sweepers begin Thursday, with
qualifying on Friday and Saturday- we hope to see you there!
See you soon!
We'll
see you in Vegas this weekend for more great JBT action! Get ready for
Desert Open and the start of 09-10 as well, spread the word, spread the word,
and spread the word some more, and we'll see you soon!
