Hi Everyone!
Season 12 of JBT action is here! We kicked off with a great doubleheader in So Cal last weekend. Almost $4,000 in scholarships were awarded. Congrats to our winners and thanks to everyone who participated- complete results and all the updated stats are all at our website, www.bowljbt.com, so please check it out!
This weekend brings another doubleheader, our very popular visit to Cliff Castle Casino in northern Arizona. There are two separate tournaments, one Saturday, and another Sunday- you can bowl either or both. This is a small bowling center, so we have two qualifying squads both days, 9 AM and 1 PM. You can choose either one. If you bowl the 9 AM squad, you can re-enter the 1 PM squad if (and that's a big if) there is space available, on a lottery basis. On both days, the semifinals follow the 1 PM squad just like a normal JBT. Each qualifying squad is limited to 80 bowlers, so if you haven't yet prepaid, come very early to get your spot, and we'll see you at "The Cliff" for a very fun weekend!
The week after, NM-TX gets rolling with a doubleheader weekend at Holiday Bowl in Albuquerque, so be sure to make plans for that weekend as well!
We've added a few new bells and whistles to the website for you folks that can't get enough of your JBT stats. First, if you click on the "Powerbowl" section, we'll chart every single Powerbowl attempt this season, so you can see what pinfall people are calling and how they're faring- check it out!
Also, we have a new website section called "Lane Conditions". As you probably know, our policy regarding lane conditions is "be ready for any condition at any time". There are both my own philosophical reasons for this, as well as necessary strategic reasons for this (we'll talk about that on that webpage). That said, folks who really follow our Tour really closely can probably make some good educated guesses as to when they'll see tough shots or easy shots (although we threw a few of you for a loop this weekend). But, to help you along (and just because it's interesting, dangit), we have a chart on that page of all lane conditions (and their corresponding cuts) used this season. It's our goal to expose you to a full spectrum of lane conditions season-long, to help you become the most versatile bowler possible. Check it out!
Don't forget to check our schedule and make plans early for our big money Major events coming up at the end of the year- the Best in the West over Thanksgiving weekend, and the Las Vegas Main Event, right after Christmas. Do not miss the "majors"!!!
Phew! As always, tons of stuff going on, so don't miss a single event as season 12 kicks into gear! We'll see you at Cliff Castle this weekend!
