JBT Online Update 6-4-09
Last weekend in Vegas, the JBT awarded over $10,000 in scholarships at the Girls Invitational and Mojave Invitational! Allie Ijams captured the Girls Invite, while DJ Sloan and Andrew Kellogg were crowned Mojave Invite champs. Be sure to visit the best site in bowling, www.bowljbt.com, to read the complete results, and all the updated stats, stories, and everything else going on in the JBT world!
That also means 40 more bowlers are qualified for the TPC, by finishing in the top 20 in Mojave Conference points. Visit the 'Statistics', 'Schedule', and 'Year End Qualifiers' sections of our website to check your TPC status and to read all about the TPC!
Big Rock & NM-TX Invitational this weekend!
A jam-packed weekend to wrap up the NM-TX Conference is in store for you this weekend! On Saturday, we'll be at Big Rock Casino in Espanola for TWO JBT events! First, at 10 AM, is a scratch-only event. It's only $20 to enter! As always, our scratch-only events are a great chance for higher average handicap division bowlers to 'test the waters' in scratch without sacrificing handicap points. It's limited to the first 24 entrants, so sign up early and don't miss it!
Then, a regular scratch and handicap JBT event begins at Big Rock at 2 PM. This is your last chance to qualify for or improve your standing in Sunday's Invitational, so we hope to see you all there. Scratch bowlers can earn as many as 470 points in one day (wow!), so lots can still be determined.
Finally, on Sunday, Silva Lanes in Albuquerque hosts the NM-TX Invitational. $1,000 top scholarships will be on the line in each division- if you are eligible and aren't sure if you're bowling, check out the prize lists from Invitationals we already ran this year- I'd say it makes a fairly persuasive argument. Be sure to check in no later than 9 AM for the 9:30 start time. Invitationals are amazing- don't miss it!
2009-10 Schedule now posted and finalizing
On the schedule page of the website, dates and conferences are now posted through February of 2010. We'll be attaching sites to the dates as they become finalized. We are very excited about what we have in store for season 14, and hope you'll be part of it. Remember, starting next season, if you're under 22, there's no reason NOT to be a part of it!
We're also about ready to publish details on the 2009 Las Vegas Main Event, the Under-22 World Championship (how's that for an ambitious name?). Check the website as that gets posted as well!
