Portland, Best In The West results posted
Thanks to everyone who came out to two exciting weekends of JBT action, at Portland's 20th Century Lanes, and at our first 'major' of the season, the Best In The West tourney. Our Pac NW Conference continues to develop, while Best In The West's unique format provided two days of thrilling action and over $4,000 in scholarship payouts. Complete results are posted at our website, www.bowljbt.com, so be sure to check it out today!
So Cal Doubles, Baker Team this weekend!
A full December of JBT action begins with a great weekend at Canoga Park Bowl. On Saturday, it's the So Cal Doubles Classic, 1 PM start time. Remember, your partner can be another junior or an adult, but we suggest an adult, since you won't have to split any scholarship money you win. Cash brackets will be available for adults also.
Then, on Sunday, we'll have our first 5-person Baker Team event in So Cal! This scratch event starts at 10 AM, and teams can be any combo of bowlers except: 1) you can have no more than 2 adults on your team, and 2) you MUST have one bowler with an average of 180 or less. This event was a big hit when we tried it in Arizona last year, and we hope So Cal folks will make it equally successful!
If you are still looking for partners for either of these events (or any others), check out the 'message board' section of our website. We have a whole 'need a partner' section dedicated to this. Also, we're often able to partner up single folks on-site, so don't give up!
AZ, Pac NW Doubles, Team, and Singles action all next week!
December 13-14, the Arizona Conference follows the same formula as So Cal above, with the Doubles event at AMF Christown (please note the early 11:30 AM start time!), and the Team event Sunday morning, 10 AM start. Valentino Bowling is sponsoring this weekend, and demonstrations of their great products will be on-hand (check it all out at valentinobowling.com). This is always a popular weekend, so don't miss it!
The same weekend brings Pac NW action. On Saturday, you'll have your first scratch-only singles event, at Roxbury Lanes in Seattle, with a late 3 PM start time. Our scratch-only events are a great chance for higher-average handicap bowlers to 'test the waters' in scratch without sacrificing handicap points- don't miss it! Then, on Sunday, it's doubles time for you guys, also at Roxbury, with a 9 AM start time. Pick those partners wisely and get ready for a great weekend!
We'll highlight the NM-TX weekend on 12/20-21 next week, and then....
Main Event Time Is Almost Here!
If yo haven't yet got your entry blank in for the 2008 Las Vegas Main Event in yet, it's definitely time to do so. Squad times are filling, excitement is building, and if you're going to bowl one major event this year, this is the one to do! $50,000 in estimated scholarships will be awarded, including GUARANTEED first place prizes of $5,000 in scratch, $1,500 in girls scratch, and $2,000 in handicap. All this in a tournament that you could bowl in only two days (of course many side events will make for four jam-packed days of competition). I know things aren't easy for many of us, but this is one tournament I hope you'll find a way to get to. If you have any questions on Main Event, please contact me any time.
Logan's Playground Thanks You!
Thank you to those of you who made donations at Best In The West to Logan's Playground, a charity that helps kids with pediatric HIV/AIDS. For some of them, these toys will be the only gifts they receive. We're going to put out a donation box again the weekend of 12/13-14 in Phoenix- if those of you coming each bring just one toy (for any age kid 3-18), just think of the impact we can make. Thanks in advance for your generosity!
Complete 08-09 Schedule on Website!
Be sure to check out the schedule section of the website, where the complete 08-09 schedule is posted. You'll quickly see we have a ton of excitement in store for you in all five conferences, and an amazing summer of all-conference, big scholarship events that you won't find anywhere else, highlighted of course by our version of Junior Gold, the 2009 JBT Touring Players Championship, held at Strike Zone in Henderson NV.. It will again bring the best of the best from all 5 JBT Conferences together to compete for $2,000 guaranteed first place scholarship prizes. We'll talk in more detail about the schedule after the new year, so I don't overload you, but give it a glance and start to make some long-range plans for the best season of JBT action ever!
See you soon!
We'll see you this weekend in So Cal for another weekend of great JBT fun and action. See you soon!
