Phoenix, Seattle results posted
Thanks to everyone who came out to four thrilling and jam-packed JBT events last weekend in Seattle and Phoenix. Our doubles events continue to be some of our most exciting and most popular, while our third-ever Baker Team event showed again why that's a classic in the making. Over $10,000 in scholarships were awarded this weekend alone- wow!!! Complete final results are now posted on the best website in junior bowling, www.bowljbt.com, so be sure to check it out today. Plus, check back every day for more updated stats, stories, and everything else going on in our crazy JBT world!
Hemming Wins $1,000 PowerBowl Jackpot
Zach Hemming became the latest JBT bowler to win our PowerBowl jackpot, picking up a cool $1,000 scholarship for going X-7-5 on Sunday up in Seattle. It's the second time it's been hit in Washington, and the second time a handicap-division regular has pulled it off. Congrats Zach! For your newcomers.. see, it can be done! Check out the PowerBowl section of the website for a complete rundown of the whole history of PowerBowl. PowerBowl restarts at a healthy $500 this weekend, maybe you'll be next!
Rio Rancho This Weekend!
Our last pre-Christmas events are this weekend, at Tenpins & More in Rio Rancho NM. On Saturday, it's the last of our Doubles events. It's a smaller center, so there are two qualifying squads, at 9 AM & 12:30 PM. If you enter at 9 AM, you are allowed to re-enter at 12:30, space permitting, with first time entrants having priority. All 4 doubles events so far this season have been awesome, and we expect this to be no different, so get yourself a partner and come on over!
Then, on Sunday, it's another scratch-only event, starting at 9:30 AM. Again, higher average handicap division bowlers, this is a perfect opportunity to test the waters of our scratch division without sacrificing handicap points- we hope you'll take advantage of this opportunity. Also, as a bonus treat,we'll use the same lane condition that is used at the popular NM Open adult tournament that tenpins hosts (and you can bowl as a junior too!). So, even more reason to bowl Sunday!
Don't forget that NM-TX is right back in action after the new year, January 3-4 in Roswell. The folks at Town and Country are always some of our best hosts, and every tournament matters, so make sure in this busy season to make plans to make your way to Roswell for a great JBT weekend Jan 3-4, 2009!
17 New Videos Posted!
You've waited a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time for some of these, but I've finally figure out how to get videos posted on my Vista-based laptop (NOT a big fan). In fact, there are 17 new videos at the videos section of the website- that's over 8 hours of terrific new entertainment for you! There are definitely some memorable moments on many of these videos, so check it out today! More videos will be added soon- I'm in a bit of a time crunch with Main Event around, and they still do take a while, but fairly soon every backlogged video will be posted!
Main Event Time Is Here!
Well, after a full year of buildup, it's time for the 2008 Main Event! Four days of action December 25-28 at Texas Station will culminate with bowlers walking out with an estimated $50,000 in scholarship prizes, with 50 guaranteed scholarship spots! If you're within driving distance of this tournament and don't bowl, I don't honestly know what more we can offer- this is the biggest event with the best prize fund ratio of any open-field event anywhere, period. Those of you who've been to Main Event before know the nonstop fun and excitement you're in for. If you've delayed, you can STILL enter, though. Contact me to get your squads reserved (12/26 Noon is sold out), or if you're brave a VERY limited amount of walk-in spots will be available. Do not miss out on the Main Event! Be sure to check out the Main Event section of the website for all the details, and to check your squad times if you've already entered.
Remember, the day after Main Event ends, Monday December 29, we have a regular season event at Cerbat Lanes in Kingman, 10 AM AZ start time. This event counts for both Arizona AND Mojave points, so it's a great way to make TWO Invitationals in one tournament! It's also near or on the way home for many of you driving to or from Main Event, and has become quite a tradition in itself- don't miss this one either!
See you soon!
We'll see you this weekend in Rio Rancho, or next week in Vegas for the big one! Thanks to everyone for an amazing December so far, and here's to what's to come!
