Albuquerque this weekend- double points SATURDAY!
Coming up this weekend we visit Leisure Bowl in Albuquerque for another great doubleheader of JBT action. Contrary to last week's email, the flyers you have are correct, and Saturday is a double points event. Points get you into our season-end Invitational, with a $1,000 first place scholarship, and our Touring Players Championship, with a $2,000 first place scholarship. So... get a group together, and get yourselves to Albuquerque! Sunday will be just as fun, and will be the first time we use our new and well-received 'drop-or-not' format in New Mexico. Don't miss either event this weekend!

Schedule flip-flop in June
One of the reason we keep our spring schedules tentative for a while is so we can troubleshoot any overlapping events and adjust if possible- you can imagine what a jigsaw puzzle scheduling in seven different states must be. So, one of those changes has happened. The June 6-7 So Cal and June 13-14 NM-TX weekends will flip flop, so the June 13-14 weekend will be in So Cal, and the June 6-7 weekend will be in New Mexico. The only schedules published before this change are the blue So Cal ones, which are now revised, but if you picked one up in Vista, please mark that change.
Clarification on Dress Code Bonus for girls
There is still confusion over what clothing is acceptable for the 10-point bonus bowlers receive for being in 'PBA dress' for our female bowlers. It's unfair to boys, who can't wear shorts to get the bonus, if girls are allowed to. I've also been unclear personally as to exactly what qualifies as shorts for girls, since they have a bit more leeway and options. Quite frankly, I didn't see this coming when we began the bonus, I just want our bowlers to look good. So... we'll give people a time to adjust their wardrobes. Anything I've deemed acceptable for females will remain so until January 1. At that time, only long pants, or specifically skirts or shorts, will be valid for girls, to get that 10 point bonus.
Average Cutoff for Baker Team Events Past
Coming up quickly are our two Baker Team tournaments, December 7 at Canoga Park Bowl, and December 14 at AMF Christown. This extremely exciting event requires a 5-bowler team. Up to two of the five bowlers can be adults-- and one bowler MUST have a 180 or under average as of 11/15. We have an 11/15 JBT average list, so feel free to ask if you have a bowler you think may be near the cutoff. The idea of this under-180 bowler rule is to integrate our handicap-level bowlers into this all-scratch event, so please ask around at JBT events between now and then. This was our most popular 'new' event in a while last year, and we want it to be even bigger and better this year- so get those partners!
Get Doubles, Team, and Main Event Partners on the Website!
Need or have bowlers for the Team Tournaments, the upcoming Doubles events, and the Main Event? Just visit our website! We have a whole new section where you can barter for partners. Some folks told me they had trouble signing in, and I think we have that fixed. Our non-singles events are some of our most fun of the year, and there's really no reason to miss out for lack of a partner, so get those partners ready!
See You Soon!
Phew! So much going on, be sure to take advantage of everything we have to offer. We have lots more exciting announcements to come in the next few weeks, so stay tuned! In the meantime, if I can help in any way, please don't hesitate to drop me a line. We'll see you (yes, YOU!) in Albuquerque this weekend, or other JBT events in the very near future!
