Del Rosa results posted
Thanks to everyone who came out to two great JBT events last week at Del Rosa Lanes. The brand new drop-or-not format seems to be a hit, and we again presented two very different lane conditions over the weekend, showing that in addition to the fun, excitement, and scholarships that JBT offers, we're also working on educating people about our sport as well. Complete results are now posted at our website, www.bowljbt.com, so check it out. Check back often too, as we update more and more stats, stories, and everything else!
El Paso, Glendale this weekend
A rarity on the JBT schedule occurs this weekend as we'll be in two different cities this weekend. In El Paso, we'll be visiting Bowl El Paso. On Saturday, it's a scratch only event beginning at 1 PM. This is a great chance for higher average handicap bowlers to test the waters of scratch, so be sure not to miss it. Then, on Sunday, a handicap and scratch event starts at 10 AM.
In the Phoenix area, we'll be at the newly remodeled Glenfair Lanes this weekend- you've got to see the major upgrades they've already done there! On Saturday, we'll have a handicap and scratch event, beginning at 1 PM. Then, on Sunday, it's a scratch-only event (again, high average handicappers, come on down!), starting at 10 AM. So... lots of JBT action to choose from, come on down!
Seattle next weekend- please check your schedules!
Next weekend, our Pacific Northwest Conference leaps into its third season with a doubleheader weekend at AMF Imperial in Seattle. Pac NW folks, please take notice- this is NOT a two-day long tournament. These are 2 separate one-day events, and you can bowl only Saturday, only Sunday, or, hopefully, both! This will allow us to run more events in a season up there, as well as give added incentive to folks who might like to do some traveling up there.
Last week, we distributed flyers to many bowling centers throughout eastern Oregon and Washington. Amazingly, I did not put the correct addresses on those schedules (they are the AZ Conference addys that I failed to cut and paste correctly). OOOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPS. Obviously, AMF Imperial is not in Camp Verde, AZ. -- please check the "Schedule" page of our website for complete address information if you're unfamiliar with the Pac NW centers we're visiting, and we'll get corrected flyers out asap.
Get those doubles partners ready!
The fall always brings a truckload of doubles and team events to the JBT calendar. Our first doubles event is Oct 19 in Las Vegas, closely followed by events in all 5 JBT Conferences. Plus, So Cal and Arizona host 5-person team tournaments, and it's all topped off with the Main Event's Doubles and Team events. So... ask around and get your partners set. Again, the message board on our website would be a great place to advertise for partners... please consider using this resource.
See you soon!
What an amazing first month to the JBT season! We hope you've enjoyed it as much as I have so far, and we want to see many, many more of you- keep spreading the word! We'll see you in Phoenix and El Paso this weekend, or other JBT events in the very near future. Go Bucs!!!
