Hi Everyone!
Thanks to everyone who came out to a great JBT doubleheader last weekend in Texas! Be sure to check out the complete final results, and all the updated stats, stories, and everything else in our crazy wonderful JBT world at the best website in bowling, www.bowljbt.com. We do most of our communication through the website, so be sure to check it out often!
Coming up this weekend is the last of our season-openers, as the Pacific Northwest Conference gets underway with a stop at Magic Lanes (approximately 1,700 miles northwest of last week's JBT events in El Paso!), with a 2 PM start. This event was originally scheduled at Hiline Lanes a few miles south of Magic, so a) big thanks to Magic Lanes for coming through like, well, magic, and taking over the event, and b) make sure to make a note of it! Once again, Pac NW bowlers, we're titally reliant on you to spread the word of our events- it's make-or-break for us in the Pac NW this season, to be perfectly honest, so we hope you'll come through for us- and yourselves- by spreading the word to all ages and averages!
The following weekend, we have great stops for you in Tucson and Las Vegas. On Saturday, we'll stop at Cactus Bowl (aka Pickle Bowl!), with a 12:30 PM start time. There is major construction in central Tucson on I-10, so be sure to allow plenty of travel time.
Then, on Sunday, we'll visit the spectacular Strike Zone at Sunset Station, with a 9 AM starting time. You guys did an awesome job of checking in early at The Orleans, so keep it up at Strike Zone. It was great to see many new Mojave faces at Orleans, we hope you had fun, and will bring a friend or fifteen with yuo to bowl at Strike Zone!
JUNIOR GOLD QUALIFIERS: We'd like some input on this one. Most of you know our opinion on Junior Gold (if you don't, we'll be happy to opine anytime, hehe); nonetheless, we don't want to deny you an opportunity to go if you're so inclined, so we'd like to run a few Gold qualifiers soon. My big brainstorm is that since the only point of the qualifiers is to get people eligible for Gold finals, why not advance 1:3 bowlers, for example, instead of 1:6 or 1:8, like most qualifiers? Of course, since buying Junior Gold spots costs $150 each, that means we'd have to charge you $50 for the qualifier, plus something like $12 linage. But, since you'll invest at the very, very least $1,000 to get to Gold Finals, that shouldn't stop you. Heck, we could charge $75 plus $12 linage for the qualifier, and advance 1:2. Or, we can charge as little as $15 plus $12 linage, and only advance 1:10, but that means 9 of you are right back to square one. So... it seems to make since that if we're going to do this, to advance as many people as possible. (By the way, we don't make a penny in this setup, I'll be around Friday night anyway...)
We could run qualifiers for sure on the Friday night before Cactus (10/12), and Canoga Park (11/30). I'm sure we can find some more dates. I believe we need 6 people minimum to run a qualifier, which means on the 1:3 ratio we'd award a minimum of 2 spots. Any interest? Let me know!!
Also........... you guys can set up your own qualifiers!!! We'll get a blanket USBC certification, and as long as you get the 6 Gold card bowlers, you can essentially run the whole thing yourself! If you get a "party of six" minimum together, contact me and I'll give you more details (you'd need to let me know in advance).
Just some thoughts to get those of you who want to go to Gold on your way... let me know soon if any of this works, spots seem to be going quite quickly.
Enough of that, back to more fun stuff!
HELP US SCHEDULE THE REST OF 07-08!
Thanks to those of you who helped us out in scheduling the rest of our 07-08 JBT dates by giving us dates to avoid. As a result, we have a rough draft of dates that we're going to start scheduling events on for each Conference. PLEASE scan through these- if there's a conflict, please let us know. We'll do the best we can to adjust, although it will probably be impossible to avoid everything, we'll do the very best we can for the most possible people. Again, please keep in mind that NONE of the dates below are set in stone until they appear on the 'schedule' page: (In fact, moving one date will probably force other dates to be moved in a domino effect):
