Phoenix this Weekend- show your colors!
Coming up this weekend are two great stops in the northwest valley of Phoenix! On Saturday, we'll visit Johnson Lanes in Sun City West. This event has a 1:30 start time (sharp eyed folks may have noticed a very temporary potential switch to 2:30 to avoid conflict with a high school tourney, but that was resolved, so 1:30 is the correct time). This is always a popular event, and the seniors of Sun City love to watch our talented juniors bowl, so don't miss it! Sun City is fairly far west, so be sure to allow plenty of travel time.
Then Sunday, another big turnout is expected at AMF Peoria Lanes, 10 AM start time. I think there's something else going on that day, too... what is it again? Oh yeah, the Super Bowl!!! By popular demand, Steelers or Cardinals attire IS acceptable for JBT dress code for Sunday only. To get the 'PBA dress code' 10 point bonus, slacks / skirts must still be worn.
In addition, Sunday will of course be the day of our annual Super Bowl Conference. Every entrant will have the chance to predict the final score of the big game. The closest score will win a free entry to a JBT event. If anyone picks the exact final score, you'll get a free entry to the 2009 Main Event- wow!!! (max 1 winner). So... don't miss Sunday! Be sure to check in plenty early as we'll be starting right on time, as usual.
Kyle King tops $30,000 in JBT earnings
Since our last update, Kyle King has become the 3rd bowler in JBT history to top $30,000 in career scholarship earnings! That's quite a combination of bowling talent and dedicated traveling by Kyle and his family, and we congratulate him on the accomplishment! Are you the next Kyle King? Get out and get bowling JBT!
2/22 Bowlium Stop Boosted to $300 first, big trophies to winner!
Our So Cal stop at Bowlium in Montclair is shaping up to be very special! Our event sponsor, Felix Chac Chuo Farms, has boosted the first place guarantee to $300 in each division from our usual $200. If that wasn't enough, instead of our normal beautiful first place plaques, we will have a beautiful 2-foot tall trophy for each winner! We have a couple other treats up our sleeve for that day as well, so pleeeeeeease, so Cal bowlers, be sure to help us spread the word that this is an event you simply can't miss (you shouldn't miss any JBT events, but, heck, you know what I mean). We want a sellout at Bowlium!
How's Your Points? Plan a trip!!
Remember, points mean a lot on our Tour. You get points at each regular season JBT event, and points get you into our year end Invitationals ($1,000 for first in each Invite),and the all-important Touring Players Championship ($2,000 for first). Point standings are completely updated on the website- check it out today! Need to boost your score in another conference? Plan a road trip with some friends and do it! Traveling out of your home conference is one of the most fun, exciting, and unique things you can do with JBT. Check out the schedule and plan your trips today!
See you soon!
We'll see you this weekend in Phoenix as the 08-09 JBT season rolls on! Please tell a friend that JBT events are for all ages and all averages. Someone told you about JBT before you got started- time to 'pay it forward'!
