“For years, Ebonite has been known for balls that offer control and predictability. Opening up the lane was not one of our fortes,” said Brian Pursel, Ebonite product manager. “The Killer Instincts are designed with this in mind. They’re both powerful through the midlane and destructive in the backend.”
The Killer Instinct Pearl (KIP) is Ebonite’s most aggressive reactive pearl ball to date. In fact, calling it Killer is putting it mildly. The backend reaction, ability to open up the lane and the pin carry are the backbone of what champions are made of. Primed and ready for medium oil conditions, the KIP uses the Xenex asymmetric core which produces strong midlane reaction and continuation in the backend. The Big Bang reactive coverstock creates sharp breakpoint and backend hook.
The Killer Instinct Sanded (KIS) features the same Xenex core as the Pearl, but with a non-pearlized, sanded Big Bang reactive coverstock. A warrior in medium to heavy oil, the KIS harnesses more hook potential than any other sanded ball in the Ebonite arsenal.
The KIP features ChromaFlair™ red to gold coloring and is a factory polished pearlized ball with orange and yellow logos and orange pin. The KIS is bright red and tangerine with yellow and white logos and white pin. Both balls will be available in 14 – 16 pounds beginning January 1, 2004.
