Canada's George Lambert and United States Bowling Congress Team USA's Diandra Asbaty lead the American Zone North Region rankings heading down the stretch.
Only two ranking events remain in the North Region. The USBC Masters will take place in Milwaukee from Nov. 15-20 and the Storm National Mixed Championships in Reno, Nev., wrap up the weekend of Nov. 13.
The top 16 men and women in each region (North, Central/Caribbean and South) will be eligible for the World Tenpin Bowling Association American Zone Ranking tournament, which will be held Dec. 6-10 in Panama City, Panama.
The top eight men and women from the final ranking tournament will represent the American Zone in the World Ranking Masters, which will be held in Kuwait City from May 9-15.
Players who are interested in earning points in the remaining North Region ranking events should ask for a registration form when checking in for the tournament. The cost is $25 and all amateur players are eligible.
The North Region has had half a dozen ranking events so far this year with players accumulating points based on their finish in each event. The ranking system was developed as a way to make more players eligible for the World Ranking Masters.
Players interested in entering the USBC Masters, which features a top prize of $100,000, can contact Tom Boedecker at (414) 423-3415 or visit USBC Masters on bowl.com. Entry information for the Storm National Mixed Championships can be found at nationalmixed.com.
